Charlie Disney passed away recently. Anybody who has been in table tennis for a long time will know of Charlie. And anybody who doesn’t know Charlie is still affected by his table tennis legacy, as Charlie is somebody who made a big mark on the sport. In this posting are notes and an obituary from Don Larson, and notes from Sheri Cioroslan (formerly Sheri Soderberg) who knew Charlie well from their club in Minneapolis.
The Samson Dubina Academy will be hosting an ITTF/PTT Level 1 Coaching Course on July 28 in Akron, OH. The Course is open to all interested Table Tennis Coaches and persons wishing to become certified as ITTF-PTT Level 1 Coaches who are 18 years old and older. Coaches completing all the course requirements will receive both ITTF and PTT (Paralympic) Level 1 Certification. In addition, coaches who pass this course and who are not USATT Certified will also be awarded “State” Level Coaches Certification by USATT.
