In this blog, I’m going to describe in detail the final week of my preparation leading up to the table tennis Olympic trials. In stage four, I’m planning not to make any major changes to my strokes. It takes about thirty days to permanently change a stroke. If I choose to make a change, my game will progress downward a bit, and I don’t have time for that. By the Olympic trials, my strokes should be completely automatic with no thought about the actual mechanics of the stroke.
ICC’s Table Tennis Center, host of this weekend’s JUIC International Junior & Cadet Championships, was the site of a unique 3 day pre-tournament camp headed by ICC Head Coach, Massimo Constantini. Twenty campers, 11 from foreign countries, participated in the camp.
