Homeschool Mom Getting in Amazing Shape

Fitness For Moms!

Back in the day, Amanda Graber was a nationally ranked table tennis athlete who represented the US at the World University Championships. After getting married and having 5 kids, Amanda took a decade away from the sport to focus on family and homeschooling. Amanda just recently returned to the competition scene as a way of getting fit and spending time with her kids who are now playing. They train regularly at the Samson Dubina Table Tennis Academy, play at home with each other, and even train with their Newgy robot in the basement.

Amanda loves the fact that Olympic table tennis is a means of getting a great workout (burning up to 800 calories/hour) in a fun environment with family and friends. Her fitness training consists of doing drills at home with her boys, taking lessons from her brother Samson Dubina, and playing weekly in the Paddle Palace Ohio League. The league is like a mini-tournament each week at the Samson Dubina Table Tennis Academy. The league happens every Thursday and Friday night. Amanda shows up early to warm up, plays many tough matches against the first division league players, and leaves sweaty and exhausted at 9pm after getting a great workout.

Amanda’s next major competition is the Presper Financial Architects Open on February 7-8. She will be playing doubles with her son on February 8th at 10am. If you would like to see Amanda in action, I would encourage you to come check out the tournament or consider registering as a competitor yourself!
